Trunk pull down question

Has anyone ever tried to replace the pull down motor latch with a standard trunk latch?

Mike the latches are different the housing and the gears are the same . In other words you can take the latch off the top pull down and put it on a trunk pull down motor. Here's a link to how it comes apart.
