Window lift glitch
Author Last Post

My body man knew how to do it. You run the window down and hold it for 10 seconds. Then run the window up and hold for 10 seconds. Run the window down once more and hold it for 10 seconds. You’re done. You will have to do this every time you have a complete power loss. Sometimes a complete power loss will confuse the computers. Things will stop working or you’ll get a bunch of erroneous fault codes. Take the HOT cable off the battery and touch it to the negative post for 10 seconds. This will force ALL the computers to reset to factory specs.

THOMAS, GLAD YOU GOT TO THE ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEM. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT? READ THE FACTORY MANUAL OR FROM ANOTHER OWNER? HOW IS THE PROCEDURE DONE FOR OTHER READERS/OWNERS ?
Turns out I only needed to index the windows. Apparently, every time there is a complete power loss, you have to do that. Cadillac tried to sell me a sensor and installation for $950!
Thomas, If it ends up being the module (which it probably is) I might still have access to a new in box module. Warren
As you all know, the XLR’s have a secondary window lift. This drops the windows 1/2” when opening and raises the 1/2” when closed. This is to allow clearance for the top. My unit has ceased to initiate the secondary. I can close the windows completely from inside but cannot raise them all the way from the outside. Does anyone have a diagnosis or fix for this glitch?
