When I connected the battery there was a continual sound coming from behind which I don't remember hearing before. It was in the garage where you can hear better than outside. Anyway, could this be the fuel pump inn the gasoline tank (like my 85 Olds does) or would this be something else like the hold down motor running. I usually disconnect the battery when not using to avoid it going dead which has happened before. It's cold here, not much time to work so I need a quick go see. Thanks

The big question is: Does the noise stop after 5 or 6 seconds or does it keep on going?

it can be your antenna. cable broke and motor spinning.
